1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. We also use closely related technologies such as local storage. Together they let us keep you signed in, remember your search preferences and keep the site secure.

2. Cookies we set

  • Session and authentication — keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Strictly necessary. Lasts for the session, or up to 30 days if you choose to stay signed in.
  • Preferences — your chosen country and currency, recent searches, and whether you have dismissed a notice. Strictly necessary for the feature you asked for. Up to 12 months.
  • Security and abuse prevention — rate limiting and bot detection signals. Strictly necessary. Up to 24 hours.
  • Analytics — aggregated counts of pages viewed so we can see which parts of the site are useful. Set only if you accept analytics cookies. Up to 13 months.

3. Third parties

A small number of cookies come from suppliers who provide parts of the service: our identity verification provider during a verification session, our payment processor on a checkout page, and map tiles on listing pages. We do not run advertising networks or third-party advertising trackers on this site.

4. Your choices

Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off, because the site cannot sign you in or protect your session without them. Analytics cookies are optional and are only set if you accept them.

Every major browser lets you see, delete and block cookies in its privacy settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, signing in and publishing a listing will stop working.
